MEET HENRY OSTIANA
The Henry Ostiana Foundation began in memory of Henry Ostiana, who was diagnosed with vascular dementia, a type of Alzheimer's, in 2013. After moving from Sint Maarten to the Netherlands due to inadequate medical care, Henry and his wife Mireya worked to raise awareness about Alzheimer's.
In 2017, the Foundation was officially established to continue Henry's mission. Focusing on Sint Maarten, the foundation aims to educate people about dementia and improve care facilities. It collaborates with Alzheimer Nederland and Alzheimer Sint Maarten, relying solely on volunteers for its operations.
The foundation's goal is to make a real difference for those affected by dementia in Sint Maarten. By raising funds primarily in the Netherlands, it seeks to enhance medical services on the island and break the silence surrounding Alzheimer's, honoring Henry's legacy and helping others in need.
